Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault that took place in Portsmouth on Thursday 7 April
At approximately 5pm the victim, a man in his 30s, was walking along Elm Grove in the direction of Outram Road and Victoria Road South when he was approached by two men who assaulted him.
The victim dropped his phone and his hat during the assault, which the men then left the scene with. He was not seriously injured.
Since this incident was reported to police officers have been following a number of lines of enquiry and are now turning to the public for assistance.
Police have the following descriptions of two men, seen in the area at the time, who they would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
The first is described as:
Aged between 20 and 22-years old
Approximately 5ft 10in in height
White Of slim build
Brown hair
Wearing a yellow t-shirt.
The second is described as:
Aged between 40 and 50-years-old
Approximately 5ft 10in in height
White Of medium build
Grey hairWearing a coat and multi-coloured trainers.
Anyone who recognises these descriptions is asked to get in touch. Police would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened.
Perhaps you were driving through the area and may have dash cam footage, or maybe you live nearby and might have CCTV or Ring Doorbell footage of the offenders leaving the area?

Police would like to reassure the local community that they believe those involved in this incident to be known to each other and believe this to be an isolated incident at the current time.
