Firefighters scrambled to block of flats in Goldsmith Avenue, Portsmouth

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received the call shortly after 12.15pm to reports of a fire which had broke out at a block of flats on Goldsmith Avenue, Portsmouth.
Appliances from Southsea, Portchester and a specialist ALP were in attendance.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on the top floor flat using a fire extinguisher, PPV was used to clear smoke from the property and is understood to be no casualties.
A full fire investigation is now underway.
