Fire crews from Southsea, Cosham, St Marys and Portchester were scrambled to a fire within a retirement home on High Street, Old Portsmouth earlier today.
The call was received at 8.52 am on arrival firefighters discovered the fire had started on the balcony of the property.
Crews used one hose reel jet and a short extension ladder to douse the blaze.
Firefighters then stood down after extinguishing the fire and a stop message was received at 9.16 am.
