A man has been charged in connection with the assault of a child in Southampton
Police were called at 3.55pm on Tuesday (22 February) following reports that a man had strangled a 12-year-old boy not known to him near Millbrook Towers in Windermere Avenue, Southampton.
Officers were deployed immediately and an arrest was made shortly afterwards.
Lee Mackey, 48, of Goodwin Close, Southampton, has been charged with assault by beating and was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (24 February).
