A driver has today been jailed after leading police on a pursuit across Southampton.
The original offence happened on 2 August when officers from Hampshire Roads Policing unit attempted to stop a BMW.
The driver then attempted to make off from roads policing officers, after a short pursuit the driver scrambled and run from the vehicle.
After police officers gave chase, the male attempted to swim across a lake in the bid to escape.
Officers eventually apprehended the male and he was later charged with failing to stop, no insurance, no licence and dangerous driving.
Today the male received a 10 month prison sentence and disqualified from driving for 46 months.
