Firefighters called to assist paramedics after difficulties removing casualty from a Southsea home
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and rescue service received a call shortly after 6.40 pm from paramedics at South Central Ambulance Service, after they were unable to extract a casualty safely from the Southsea home.
Firefighters from Southsea were mobilised to assist after an initial risk assessment was carried out, it was decided to mobilise a specialist aerial ladder platform (ALP) to safely extract the casualty from an upper window.
Firefighters placed the casualty into a specialist basket and carefully manoeuvred the ALP across the garden to a rear window of the property, a firefighter then guided the ALP back to the roadside to paramedics who were waiting to transport the casualty to hospital.
