Two men who appeared in court on Monday, 14 February, have been jailed for a total of five years and two months for drugs supply offences in Winchester

Jamie Day, aged 25, of Old Station Approach, Winchester was sentenced to two years and six months after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B drugs between 1 April 2018 and 14 December 2019. 

Kye Page, aged 22, of Walpole Road, Winchester was jailed for two years and eight months after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply Class A and Class B drugs between 1 April 2018 and 14 December 2019. 

The court heard that on the 13 December 2019, officers from Hampshire Constabulary carried out four drugs warrants at addresses in the Winchester area.

At each of the properties, officers located items including cannabis, a number of bags containing white powder, four mobile phones suspected to be used in connection with drugs and other items associated with drug dealing.

Officers also seized a quantity of cash.

Following analysis, the white powder was confirmed to be cocaine with a total street value of £2,650.

The cannabis was also analysed and confirmed to have a total street value of around £880.

The investigation also showed that three of the phones seized contained messages advertising the sale of cannabis and cocaine.

Appearing at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, 14 February, Day and Page were jailed for a combined jail term of five years and two months for drugs offences.

Winchester’s District Commander, Chief Inspector Jon Turton said “This is an excellent result following a great piece of work by officers from Hampshire Constabulary.  

“Drugs supply and associated crime can be devastating to communities. It is often connected to other offending, such as violence or even the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable adults and children, which is why we continue to do everything we can to tackle them and keep our communities safe. 

“I hope this case reassures our communities that we continue to disrupt those involved in drug related crime and keep people safe.”

–           Other people seen inside the house or flat who don’t normally live there

–           People coming and going from the property

–           More taxis and cars than usual appearing at the property

–           When you see the occupant, they may appear anxious or distracted

–           Seeing drugs paraphernalia near to the property
