Emergency services are dealing with numerous casualties following a multi car collision

The collision involved five vehicles and happened shortly before 12.10pm, police have closed the road between the junctions of Hayling Avenue and Tangiers Road, Portsmouth.

It’s believed the van was travelling North along the Eastern Road when it collided with another vehicle, it then hit a number of oncoming vehicles before rolling over onto it’s side.

Firefighters were seen giving emergency first aid to the casualties involved in the collision, there are not believed to be any life threatening injuries at this stage.

Police expect the road to be closed for sometime whilst a full accident investigation is carried out and recovery agents work to clear the vehicles.
