A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after officers detained him during routine patrols in the Chandler’s Ford area today (8 Feb)
It comes after officers were patrolling a car park on Bournemouth Road in the early hours of this morning – around 1.20am – when they witnessed a vehicle driving recklessly and performing handbrake turns in the car park.
Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and subsequently conducted a search of the individual and the vehicle.
A quantity of suspected Class A drugs and cash were located and seized as a result.
Following further investigation and the search of his home, a 20-year-old man from Fair Oak has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession of two prohibited weapons under section 5 of the Firearms Act 1968 and for possession of an offensive weapon under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019.
He remains in custody at this time.
