Firefighters were called to a house fire in a north Hampshire village shortly after 0900 (Saturday April 9)
Crews from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were on scene at the detached property in Sheepwash Lane, Newtown Common.
At the height of the incident, six fire engines and two water carriers were in attendance, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using jets to tackle the fire.
The stop message was received at 16:43 and crews began to return to station, with one fire engine and one water carrier left on scene.
No-one was injured but the house suffered severe damage, with the roof destroyed.
A fire investigator will attend to try and establish the cause.
