A major road in Portsmouth has reopened after being closed for several hours following a serious incident in which a pedestrian was struck by a lorry.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Gunstore Road in Hilsea at approximately 8:28 am. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was deployed, with a doctor and specialist paramedic providing medical assistance.
Police closed Norway Road at key junctions, including Gunstore Road, Merlin Drive, Copnor Road, and Williams Road, causing major traffic disruption in the Hilsea and Cosham areas.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area while emergency services worked at the scene.
As of 4:02 pm, police confirmed that Norway Road has been reopened, and normal traffic flow has resumed. The condition of the pedestrian remains undisclosed.
