Officers have charged a man in connection with a drugs supply investigation.
Following a stop search of a man on Cross Street in Ryde on the morning of 24 November, officers seized a quantity of pills.
Further enquiries, including an address search in George Street, resulted in further pills being seized by police.
Simon Cant, aged 37 years, of Church Road in Wootton, has been charged with possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply and being concerned in the Supply of a Class C drug.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Newport Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 26 November).
As part of this investigation, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs. She was subsequently released from custody but remains under investigation while enquiries continue.
