Police in Southampton acted on urgent intelligence earlier today, arresting a man convicted of multiple burglaries who was out on bail.
The man, wanted for breaching his bail conditions, was spotted in the city, and within minutes, officers moved in to detain him.
Upon searching the suspect, officers found bolt cutters in his bag, leading to his further arrest for “going equipped” to commit burglary.
The suspect has now been remanded in custody and will be held till his next court appearance.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said, “Thanks to swift action following hot intelligence, we were able to quickly detain a known offender before any further offences could take place. The discovery of the bolt cutters in his possession led to additional charges.
“The man had been released on bail after being convicted of several burglaries in Southampton.
The suspect will face further charges for the breach of bail and carrying tools intended for burglary at his upcoming court hearing.
