Officers responding to a burglary in progress in Ringwood have arrested a teenage boy on suspicion of burglary offences.
It comes after police received a report of a burglary at a business premises on Southampton Road between 9pm and 9.45pm yesterday evening (9 January).
Entry had been gained to the premises via a smashed window and a quantity of cash was stolen.
CCTV operators located a person acting suspiciously in the local vicinity and upon police attendance was detained.
Upon being searched, officers seized a quantity of cash and a number of tools including a screwdriver and a utility knife.
A 15-year-old boy from Fordingbridge was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assaulting an emergency worker.
He remains in custody at this time.
