A woman has been charged and remanded to appear before court following a serious assault in Shanklin.
Police were called to an address on Atherley Road at around 10.40pm on Monday 22 November.A woman in her 40s had sustained injuries to her head and leg during the alleged assault.
Megan Durham, aged 23 years, of Osborne Road in Shanklin has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon – namely a chisel.
She was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court yesterday (25 November).
At the hearing, she was remanded further to appear at the Crown Court on 4 January 2022.
Two other women, aged 32 and 45 years, were arrested as part of this investigation but have since been released with no further action.
