🔨 Man, 42, Charged After Alleged Hammer Threats in Basingstoke
A 42-year-old man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon following an incident in Basingstoke during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police were called to Worting Road, near Attwood Close, at around 1am on Saturday 20 June after receiving reports that a man was making threats while carrying a hammer.
Officers attended the scene and recovered a hammer, a wrench, and a sock containing a padlock. A man was arrested at the scene.
Jamie Marks, 42, of Attwood Close, Basingstoke, has since been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He is due to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 22 June).
