Serious Assault Reported Near KFC in Portsmouth

Emergency services were called to a serious assault near KFC in Portsmouth this evening.

Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a male unconscious following the incident. There are currently differing accounts of what happened, with one witness claiming a male in a wheelchair was involved in an assault, while another witness suggested a group of youths may have assaulted a male, knocking him unconscious.

At this stage, the full circumstances have not been confirmed.

Around five police vehicles, two ambulances and a paramedic car were seen at the scene. KFC was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Both ambulances were later escorted by police to Queen Alexandra Hospital.

This remains a developing incident and we will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
