Emergency services scramble to Hilsea train station after person hit by train
Emergency services have rushed to Hilsea train station this afternoon after a person was hit by a train.
South Western Railway has confirmed that a person has been hit by a train, with services in and out of Portsmouth currently suspended while emergency teams deal with the incident.
Police, ambulance crews, fire engines and a critical care team were all seen in attendance shortly before 4pm, with a large emergency response reported around Hilsea station and the railway line.
At this stage, further details surrounding the incident remain limited. Hilsea station remains closed, and passengers are being urged to avoid the area and check the latest railway guidance before travelling.
