Man, 49, Arrested for Drug Supply Offences Following Proactive Stop in Basingstoke
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences after officers stopped a vehicle in the Chineham area of Basingstoke.
Officers were on patrol at around 7.25pm on Thursday 7 May when they observed a car being driven erratically on the A33.
The vehicle was stopped in Lillymill Chine, and officers carried out a search due to the circumstances.
During the search, around 28 individual bags of suspected cocaine were recovered, along with cash and a mobile phone.
The man, who is from Basingstoke, was arrested on suspicion of:
Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A
Possession of a controlled drug of Class A
Driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit
He remains in custody while further enquiries are carried out.
