Man, 23, charged after pub door staff assault in Fleet
A 23-year-old man has been charged following an assault outside a pub in Fleet.
Police were called to reports that a member of door staff at The Prince Arthur pub had been pushed over and struck his head on the ground at around 11pm on Saturday 2 May.
The victim, a man in his 50s, suffered a laceration and swelling as a result of the incident.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a man in connection with the assault. During the arrest, it was also reported that officers were subjected to verbal abuse.
Ben O’Connor, 23, of Turbary Road, Fleet, has since been charged with assault by beating, possession of a Class B controlled drug, and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
He has been released on bail with conditions and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 May.
