An 18-year-old has been charged with burglary and driving offences following incidents in Rushmoor.

Police say officers spotted suspicious activity linked to a Mercedes on Hawley Lane during a proactive patrol on Wednesday 20 May.

The vehicle, which had been taken from Garrison Garage on Alison’s Road, Aldershot, failed to stop for officers on Fernhill Road before being driven off at speed.

It then travelled onto the A331 before crashing into a barrier near the roundabout by Junction 4 of the M3.

A 17-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the car, suffered a serious head injury. Officers safely removed her from the vehicle and she was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two other passengers, a 20-year-old man from Sandhurst and an 18-year-old man from Farnborough, were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and burglary other than dwelling. They have since been bailed while enquiries continue.

During a search of the Mercedes, officers found two additional sets of car keys for vehicles suspected to have been stolen from Garrison Garage on 22 April.

Using a motor vehicle without third party insurance

Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence

In relation to the incident on 22 April, Jones has also been charged with:
