Seven arrested in Alton drugs supply investigation

Seven arrested in Alton drugs supply investigation

Seven people have been arrested as part of an ongoing police investigation into suspected drug supply in the Alton area.

Officers from the Alton Neighbourhood Policing Team, working alongside the District Policing Team, have seized a significant quantity of drugs, cash and vehicles believed to have been used in crime.

The arrests include:

A 40-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both of no fixed address, arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

A 31-year-old man from Luton arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession of criminal property and driving without insurance.

A 28-year-old man from Enfield arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence, possession of criminal property and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

A 25-year-old man from Alton arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Police confirmed all seven have been bailed to various dates between 14 July and 13 August while enquiries continue.

Officers said information from local residents has played a key role in building the investigation and remains important in helping police understand and tackle suspected drug-related activity in the community.
