Man Arrested In Winchester Sexual Assault Investigation

A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into the sexual assault of a woman in Winchester.

The incident reportedly happened sometime between 7.50am and 8am on Tuesday, May 26, in the alleyway between Fox Lane and Stanmore Lane.

Police say a 22-year-old woman was walking through the alleyway when she was approached by a man and sexually assaulted.

Yesterday evening, Monday, June 1, officers arrested a 35-year-old man from Winchester on suspicion of sexual assault and stalking involving fear of violence.

He remains in police custody while officers continue to carry out enquiries.
