Six More Charged Following Violent Disorder in Southampton
Six more people have been charged in connection with the violent disorder that took place in Southampton on Tuesday, 2 June.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that the following individuals have been charged:
– Benjamin Jones, 23, of Locksley Road, Eastleigh, charged with violent disorder.
– Tyler Burley, 18, of Shakespeare Avenue, Southampton, charged with violent disorder.
– Mariusz Szczyglo, 45, of Grove Road, Southampton, charged with violent disorder.
– Kamil Josef Klonek, 33, of Lordswood Road, Southampton, charged with violent disorder.
– Leon O’Leary, 41, of Lulworth Way, Basingstoke, charged with violent disorder, obstructing or resisting a constable, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
– Harley Haynes, 23, of Avenue Road, Southampton, charged with affray.
All six defendants have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (8 June).
The latest charges form part of an ongoing investigation into the disorder which saw a significant police response in Southampton earlier this week. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and have already secured charges against a number of other individuals.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has previously stated that enquiries remain ongoing and further arrests and charges could follow as officers continue to review evidence, including CCTV footage, witness accounts and other material gathered during the investigation.
Anyone with information relating to the disorder who has not yet spoken to police is urged to contact Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary on 101, quoting the relevant incident reference number, or report information online.
