APPEAL TO IDENTIFY MAN FOUND DECEASED IN SOUTHAMPTON
Police are renewing an appeal to identify a man who was sadly found deceased in Southampton in 2024.
Officers were called at around 6.50pm on Friday 19 April 2024 after a man’s body was found in undergrowth in a wooded area on the A35, The Avenue, close to the junction with Burgess Road.
His death is being treated as non-suspicious, but despite extensive enquiries, officers have still been unable to identify him.
Police have now released an e-fit image in the hope someone may recognise him.
The man is described as:
• White
• Skinny build
• Around 5ft 8ins tall
• Believed to be around 60 years old
• Short grey/white hair
• Long grey beard
He had several distinctive tattoos, including:
• A skull wearing a top hat on his upper left arm
• A phoenix on the inside of his left arm
• A flower with a ribbon-wrapped heart on his right arm



When found, he was wearing a red hoody, a dark-coloured t-shirt, and two pairs of trousers. He was also believed to use a walking stick, which was found with him.
Police have liaised with local homeless shelters, Street Pastors and neighbouring forces, but he remains unidentified.
