Armed Police Descend on Portsmouth Cemetery Following Reports of Man with Knife

Armed police descended on a cemetery in Portsmouth shortly before midday following concerns that a group of males may have been carrying weapons.

The police response was launched after reports were received that one of the males was allegedly in possession of a knife.

Officers carried out an extensive search of the cemetery and surrounding area, with a police dog also deployed to assist with the operation.

Despite the large police presence and thorough search, no weapons were located.

The males were spoken to by officers and were subsequently allowed to leave the area.

The incident caused concern among members of the public as armed officers searched the cemetery, but the situation was brought to a safe conclusion with no reported injuries.
