A man sparked a multi agency response after he was seen jumping into water at a popular Portsmouth Pier in the early hours of Saturday 12 February
The call was made to HM Coastguard at 5.33am stating a man had been seen to jump into water from South Parade Pier, Southsea.
Lifeboat crews from Portsmouth CRT were tasked to search for the male after he was seen clinging to wooden supports under the Pier in high currents.
Police, Fire and Paramedics were also deployed who worked in a joint effort with Portsmouth CRT to bring the male to safety.
It’s understood that crews from Portsmouth CRT located the male under the Pier and managed to bring him aboard the lifeboat, crews then took the male to land who was handed over to awaiting Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
Portsmouth CRT stood down shortly after 6.37am and the male was taken by Ambulance to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
