Firefighters from Burley Fire Station and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a residential property fire in Bransgore at 2.33pm Saturday afternoon
The fire that destroyed a majority of the property was extinguished by crews with 7 BA sets, 2 hose reels and ladders.
Crews attended to one persons on scene, who was not inside the property and was not injured.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus discovered and swiftly rescued 9 kittens and 1 guinea pig within one room at the property.
The door to the room was closed, stopping the fire from spreading inside and harming the animals.
After evacuating the animals, crews worked to resuscitate the animals and all were taken by a neighbour to a local vet for checks.
Crews also unfortunately found one deceased adult cat at the scene.
The stop message was received at 4.43pm and crews remained to dampen down.
