Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Southsea during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just after 2.10am on Sunday, 19 September officers were called to reports of a fight on Palmerston Road, involving around 10 people.
A 39-year-old man suffered facial injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was kept in overnight for observations and treatment.
Detective Constable Hollie Loader, said: “Although this incident happened in the early hours of the morning, it would have been busy with lots of people out and about. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone who may have seen what happened in the lead up to it. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured mobile phone footage of the incident.”
Three men have been arrested in connection with this incident:
A 20-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released under investigation.
A 20-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent. He has been released under investigation.
A 20-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released under investigation.
