Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward following an attempted robbery in Southampton.
The incident happened at around 12.15pm on Saturday 30 October when the victim, a 20-year-old woman, was walking along East Street and was attacked from behind by an unknown woman.
It is reported that a number of attempts were made by the woman to grab the victims handbag and mobile phone – which was in her hands – but nothing was stolen.
The woman then fled the scene towards Queensway.
She is described as a black woman, approximately 5ft 4ins tall, petite build and had black hair tied up in braids. She was seen wearing skinny jeans and black trainers with a dark top and backpack.
Police have conducted initial enquiries, but are now asking the public for help to identify the person responsible.
Were you in the area at the time? East Street was busy at the time of the incident, did you see what happened? Perhaps you have dash-cam footage available if you were driving through the area?
