Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward after a man was assaulted in Eastleigh Town Centre
A man is believed to have become involved in an altercation with a group of people outside a restaurant in the Swan Centre in Wells Place at around 7.20pm yesterday evening (28 June).
The man was subsequently assaulted by the group, before he managed to flee the area and seek refuge in a nearby shop.
The man suffered injuries which required hospital treatment, but weren’t considered serious.
It is alleged that the same group then damaged a shop window before attacking the man again with a pool cue.
They then fled the scene in a vehicle which was later stopped by police on Wide Lane in Eastleigh at around 7.30pm.
Police carried out initial enquiries and five people were arrested.
A 19-year-old man from Southampton on suspicion of affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, causing criminal damage, driving dangerously and driving without insurance.
While three 17 year old boys and a 16 year old boy, all from Southampton, were arrested on suspicion of affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and causing criminal damage.
They all remain in custody at this time.
