Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Newport where a car narrowly missed a pedestrian after mounting the pavement.
The incident occurred between 4:20pm and 4:30pm on Monday, 12 August, at the junction of Staplers Road and Coppin’s Bridge roundabout. A silver Mercedes was reported to have veered onto the pavement, nearly striking a pedestrian.
Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the event or captured it on dashcam to come forward. They are not seeking to identify the driver at this stage but are eager to speak with anyone who can offer crucial details about the incident.
A police spokesperson said:
“We understand that some time has passed since the incident, but we’re hopeful that someone may remember seeing this event unfold and can assist with our investigation.
