Firefighters from Andover were called to a road bridge over the busy A303 to deal with a car fire

A number of 999 calls were made from 06:37am and the crew wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to put the fire out. 

The incident was later handed over to the driver for vehicle recovery.

Firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 07:27am.
