Havant and Liphook firefighters were alerted at 4:45pm yesterday to the field on East Meon Road, before specialist land rover and water carrier vehicles were requested from Bordon and Fareham.
The trailer was removed to an adjacent field away for electrical power lines before the hay was flattened and dampened down.
The fire was stopped using jets and high-pressure hose reels.
Crews left at 8:06pm.
