Firefighters scrambled after caravan bursts into flames on the Isle of Wight
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received the call shortly after 9.08pm Friday 1 April, after reports of a caravan that had burst into flames just outside a Caravan Park in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.
Crews from Shanklin, Ventnor, Ryde and Sandown accessed the blaze via the Languard Camping and Caravan Park.
The caravan which was housing chicken incubators, was 100% damaged by the fire, along with minor damage to a nearby 4×4.
No persons were affected, but unfortunately a number of livestock chicks were unable to be saved at the incident.
Crews used 6 breathing apparatus and 2 high pressure jets to extinguish the fire.
A stop message was received at 11:06pm.
