Officers have arrested a man following reports of a GBH-level assault at a pub in New Milton on Saturday evening (4 Dec).
It comes after police were called following a mass altercation between a group of people at a pub on Station Road at around 11.10pm on Saturday night.
Officers were deployed to the scene and viewed CCTV of the incident and identified a man they believed to be the main aggressor in the incident. They located a vehicle shortly afterwards, which was stopped, with officers confirming that a passenger in the car matched the description of a man seen on the CCTV footage.
The victim, a 36-year-old man from New Milton, sustained GBH-level injuries including a suspected broken nose and broken jaw.
A 26-year-old man from New Milton was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 – causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was later released on conditional bail, while police continue their enquiries.
