A man has been arrested following a robbery in Southampton city centre
At 10.21pm yesterday (21 February) we received a report that a man had threatened two men with a knife in Above Bar Street and demanded cigarettes and a lighter, which they gave to him.
Shortly afterwards officers arrested a 24-year-old Southampton man on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a knife in a public place and he remains in police custody at this time.
Keeping the public safe while they are socialising in night time economy is a priority for police.
