A major fire has erupted at a scrap recycling centre in the Northam area of Southampton, involving electrical waste.
Emergency services are currently battling the large blaze as thick smoke billows into the surrounding area.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have issued an urgent warning for residents nearby, particularly those living to the east of the area, advising them to keep their windows and doors shut due to the potentially hazardous smoke.
The fire broke out this morning and crews are on the scene attempting to control the situation.
There are concerns over the burning electrical waste, which may release toxic fumes. While no injuries have been reported so far, firefighters are urging the public to stay indoors until further notice.
