Police are currently investigating a serious assault in Beaulieu.
They were called to Exbury Road at 8.26pm yesterday (11 October) to reports of a severely injured woman at the roadside.
A 29-year-old woman was located with significant injuries.
She was taken to Southampton General Hospital, and her injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.
A 26-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He remains in custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Rod Kenny said: “We appreciate that this incident may have had an impact on the local community, especially those who may have witnessed it. We are really keen to hear from members of the public who may have been driving along Exbury Road between 7.45pm and 8.45pm and who may have dash-cam footage of the events leading up to or the assault itself.
“Our officers remain on-scene at the moment while they continue to carry out their enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. If you see them and have any information about the assault, no matter how insignificant you believe it to be, please do approach them as this could help aid our investigation.”
