Officers responding to a disturbance at an address in the early hours of this morning (2 Feb) in Eastleigh have arrested a man on suspicion of assault and drug cultivation offences
It comes after police received reports of a disturbance at the rear of an address on the High Street at around 2am this morning involving a large group of people.
They had fled the scene before emergency services arrived.
Two men – a 49-year-old man from Eastleigh and a 29-year-old man from Wickford in Essex – were located nearby with injuries and received medical attention. They are both being supported by police and assisting with ongoing enquiries.
Officers located and detained a man who had been seen by local CCTV operators leaving the scene shortly after the incident towards Leigh Road.
A 27-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and cultivating a Class B drug.
He remains in custody at this time.
A search of a property on the High Street by officers to ascertain no one else was inside, uncovered a cannabis factory containing a large quantity of cannabis plants.
Officers are carrying out initial enquiries in the local area today, so you may see an increased police presence for these reasons. If you see them and have any information, please stop and speak with them.
