Teenager Seriously Injured in Portsmouth Stabbing:Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault of a teenage boy in Portsmouth city centre on Saturday evening (25 January).

Officers were called at 5:24 pm after a 16-year-old was found on Commercial Road with a suspected stab wound to his chest. It is believed the incident occurred shortly before on nearby Arundel Street.

The teenager has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Specialist officers have been deployed to the area to ensure public safety, and police cordons are currently in place on Commercial Road and Arundel Street as investigations continue.

Armed police officers were spotted at a nearby location in Crasswell Street, Landport which is believed to be linked to the incident. No arrests were made, and officers were later seen leaving the property with blue lights flashing.

Police are urging anyone who was in the city centre around 5:20 pm and may have witnessed the incident, noticed anything suspicious, or saw someone fleeing the area to come forward.
