Officers responding to a burglary in progress in Totton this morning (4 April) have arrested two people in connection with the incident

It comes after a member of the public reported that they had allegedly heard people attempting to gain access to Totton Tennis Centre on Aikman Lane at around 1.40am this morning.
Upon police arrival, along with the assistance of a police dog, two men were located in woodlands nearby along with a bag of tools, gloves, head torches and screwdrivers.
A 39-year-old man from Totton was arrested on suspicion of theft and attempted burglary.
A 19-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of theft.
The roof of the tennis centre had been damaged with a large area missing lead and a number of large pieces of roof lead flashing located on the ground rolled up.
The two men remain in custody at this time.
