Two men have been charged following a serious assault in Gosport earlier this week.
Police were called at 5:20 PM on Monday, 16 September, after receiving reports that a man in his 20s had been stabbed in the abdomen and struck over the head with a bottle in an alleyway near Thornbrake Road.
Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening.After conducting enquiries, police have charged 22-year-old Marc Bache, of Brockhurst Road, and 33-year-old Andrew Lewis, of South Street, both from Gosport.
They have each been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place. Additionally,
Lewis faces a charge of robbery in connection with the incident.Bache appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday, 19 September), where he was remanded in custody and will next appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on 21 October.
Lewis was remanded in police custody and is scheduled to appear before magistrates today.Police have reiterated their commitment to addressing knife crime and drug-related harm within the community.
