Emergency services called following serious RTC along Western Road Portsmouth just before midday

Officers from Hampshire RPU were forced to close the eastbound carriageway of Western Road close to the Marriot Hotel after a collision between a van and 4×4.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received the call shortly after 11.45am with reports of persons trapped in the collision.
Firecrews worked to extract the injured casualties who were treated by paramedics at the scene and later transferred to hospital for further treatment.
Recovery agents worked alongside Colas Roads to clear debris from the scene and police reopened the road Shortly after 1pm.
