Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports that a man was assaulted during a football match between Silchester FC and Whitehill & Bordon FC.
On Saturday 11 December, a Whitehill & Bordon player was assaulted after a penalty had been awarded to Silchester in the 61st minute.
The man suffered a fractured cheekbone, a cut to his eye and a damaged tooth following the incident in Silchester.
Although the incident occurred on 11 December, it was only reported to police on 31 December.
Officers have contacted both teams and Hampshire FA, but are keen to hear from any other witnesses.
