🚨 Two men arrested after suspicious rural incident near Tadley
Two men have been arrested after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on land near Tadley last night.
Police were called at 10.57pm on Thursday 18 June after unknown people were seen gaining access to land at a property on Pitfield Lane, near Mortimer Common.
It was reported that the group were shining torches and may have had weapons.
Officers attended the area and located a Ford Focus containing two men and three children. Following a search of the vehicle, officers found balaclavas, slingshots and stones.
A 34-year-old man from Mortimer was arrested on suspicion of:
• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal
• Possession of an offensive weapon in a public place
A 45-year-old man from Mortimer was arrested on suspicion of:
• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal
• Going equipped for burglary
Both men remain in custody while enquiries continue.
