WITNESS APPEAL: Silver and Red Boardman Bike Stolen in Portsmouth City Centre
Police are appealing for help after a silver and red Boardman pedal bike was stolen from outside Subway on Commercial Road, Portsmouth.
The theft happened on Friday, 1 May, between approximately 8.30am and 8.50am.
The victim chased the offender after the bike was taken, but the suspect managed to get away, heading in the direction of the fountain.
A photo of the bike has been shared with the appeal, and enquiries are ongoing, including checks for CCTV.
Portsmouth Town Centre Neighbourhood Team said they remain committed to reducing crime and holding offenders to account, but added that public support is vital in helping to recover stolen property and identify those responsible.
They also encouraged cyclists to invest in a strong, reliable bike lock and to take advantage of free bike-marking events when available.
Police said:
“To some, this may just be a pedal bike — to others, it is their lifeline that gives them their freedom.”
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the bike is asked to call 101, quoting reference 44260204535.
