Man Dies Following Collision Involving Lorry And Pedestrian In Eastleigh
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Eastleigh.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10.13am on Thursday, June 11, to the junction of Leigh Road and Bournemouth Road, following a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 55-year-old man from Eastleigh, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
A 57-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police thanked motorists for their patience after road closures remained in place for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has relevant dashcam, doorbell, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it, to come forward.
