Vehicle fire sparks emergency response outside Wilmcote House in Somerstown tonight
Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire outside Wilmcote House in Somerstown shortly before 10.14pm tonight.
Crews attended the scene and used a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control a short time later.
An eyewitness living nearby described seeing smoke and said they became concerned after it began entering their home.
They said: “You could smell the smoke coming into my house. I’ve got the babies in the front room, so I needed to hurry up. It was so bad.”
The resident also said there was a large gathering of people outside the building as firefighters dealt with the incident.
There have been no reports of any injuries, and the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
