Man, 34, remanded in custody over string of shoplifting offences across Southampton and Eastleigh

A 34-year-old man has been charged with 13 shoplifting offences following a series of reported thefts across Southampton, Eastleigh, Hedge End and West End.

Damien John Holland, of no fixed abode, appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 25 June.

He has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of approximately £2,734 worth of goods, including meat, cheese, confectionery and clothing.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between Saturday 7 February and Sunday 24 May at the following stores:

Co-op, High Street, West End
Marks & Spencer, Coles Close, Eastleigh
Cotswold Outdoor, Lower Northam Road, Hedge End

Simply Fresh, Parkville Road, Southampton
Co-op, Bassett Green Road, Southampton
Holland was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 3 July.
